Fall has arrived
Emma is off to a new home. She has been rather neglected as of late. Life has been a little too busy to play with dolls. It is what it is.

Emma and her swim suit.
Emma Met Sassy
Emma and Sassy hung out on the mantle piece for the first few days. Sassy told her it was July, "In July we don't wear fur coats!" But Emma is insistent about keeping her coat on - and her silver shoes. She even went to the pool in them. She met a dear friend who had just returned from Rome. Emma is longing to go back to Europe and it made her just a little homesick. A pool in Spotsylvania is good for today though.

Lessons for life from this journey with dolls.
I am learning to have no expectations, let go of the results, hold absolutely no judgments and just have fun while the dolls are with me!! These could be lessons for life for me!

Divine Darwinia
Divine
Artist who
Remains
Whole with
Ingenuity
Newness
Integrity and
Acceptance of her artistic ability!
Darwinia is an artist! She is leaving my house with art supplies as she can now accept her artistic abilities! She has her magic wand, a little pocket book and a mouth now. Her mouth is finally letting her share her thoughts! She is quite wise. Darwinia went to the pool, went to Pittsburgh and was loved by a 90 year old nun!
What did she learn while at this house? She told me she learned that having a close friend (Sassy) is a blessing. She has learned to be present for the Presence, to really pay attention to what is happening around her in the moment. She has learned she is an artist and is finally accepting that fact!
I shall miss your gentle spirit Darwinia. You didn't run while you were here - just danced in the light!

Sassy and Darwinia
I had two dolls this month. Sassy has hair, a sarong, and of course a manicure! She went to the pool and to Pittsburgh. She is hard for me to say good bye too. I have become quite possessive of her and am thinking 'what more could she need?' But ..... tomorrow off she travels to the next home for a month. Bye Sassy. I shall miss you.
Brigid left in June

Sassy now has a head and arms. She needs to go and stay with Patty. I am going to miss her. She is full of love :) and not shown her sassy side in this house yet. She did look at Brigid and said Brigid needs to let her hair down and loosen up a little bit. "That bun has to give you a headache" was her comment. Sassy thinks Brigid needs to get a body tattoo, and have green or blue nail polish on. I am not sure if I am brave enough to take the hair down though. I shall leave that to some one else. But the tattoo is a possibility.

The tale of Annabelle begins
The journey begins. Who is this doll? She was put together using body parts of a doll I had intended making several years ago. She will be completed in the near future. I used a Patty Culea pattern and had planned on a very frilly outfit. Her shoes were suede and hand sewn. I had intended on painting them. Her new look and attire are not up to me. I am hoping someone does put some hair on her. Other than that I have no expectations.
Annabelle is going on a trip to meet new friends and have adventures. She told me she is feeling quite exposed right now! She is only wearing a bodice and NOT underwear. She is spending her first evening in the company of three males. Her comment when hearing this was, "Oh my goodness, I certainly hope they don't mention the lack of attire and I do hope they behave." As you can tell Annabelle is a lady - or at least pretends to be!
Annabelle has emerged
The collaboration starts with a tea party - an idea, a friend to share with, other friends with willingness to participate, my willingness to let go of all results. And I have a new adventure. It is the doing, the creating of the dolls and journals which will bring the joy. This is the story of my journey.

Procrastinating
I know this is not going to be perfect!!! It is the journey of doing these dolls which is the important aspect. But, that being said, I am procrastinating making my embryo doll which is a sure sign I am wanting perfection. So, the goal this weekend is to complete my doll. She will begin her journey as a whole little being instead of pieces.

Beginning a new project
Starting a new project of dolls. I know it shall be fun, but I am having trouble deciding on the doll - as the picture shows. She has a name so far, Annabelle Victoria. We shall see what emerges.
